With FF7 Remake coming later this year
- by Ben Kerry
Right at the start of the year, we heard rumours about a batch of recent Final Fantasy titles coming to Xbox including FF7 Remake and FF16 – and so far, those rumours have mostly come true. So, when original source NateTheHate again talks about this topic, we listen – and it sounds like Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is still on track for a 2026 launch.
Commenting over on the GamingLeaksAndRumours Reddit, the notorious leaker has once again penned FF7 Rebirth for next year. They say that “Rebirth is coming to Switch 2 and Xbox in 2026”, but the insider doesn’t provide a more specific launch window than that.
As we mentioned up at the top, these rumours started back in January, when NateTheHate also claimed that Final Fantasy 7 Remake would be coming in 2025 and that Final Fantasy 16 would at some point get a shadow drop. Both of those rumours have now come to fruition – with 16 shadow dropping during the Xbox Games Showcase and 7 being confirmed for a Winter 2025 launch.
So, yeah, while Rebirth hasn’t been announced for Xbox yet, NateTheHate’s track record suggests that we can probably expect it to hit the platform at some point in 2026. In the meantime, the first portion of Square Enix’s FF7 Remake is still due for Xbox this winter, as you can read about in the related article up above.
