Available on Xbox today!

One of the noteworthy releases this month that’s flying under the radar a tad is Jurassic World Evolution 3, which was revealed by Frontier Developments last summer. Indeed, the team’s dinosaur-themed park creator is live on Xbox today, meaning we are just beginning to glimpse some initial critiques for the Series X|S title.

We haven’t had the opportunity to delve into this one here at Pure Xbox (a hectic month, it seems!), so we’re now exploring these reviews ourselves to ascertain what’s going on. Without delaying further, here’s what the reviewers are expressing about Jurassic World Evolution 3 thus far:

But Why Tho? (9.5/10)

“Jurassic World Evolution 3 is an exceptional management simulator and was launched in a year with remarkable titles also emerging in the genre. The franchise it’s associated with is the icing on the cake of what is both an inviting yet profound game that continually encourages you to explore more, but in a user-friendly manner. It’s challenging to be both an excellent starting point for management simulators and also provide die-hard fans a level of complexity that doesn’t leave them dissatisfied, but Jurassic World Evolution 3 accomplishes it flawlessly.”

DualShockers (9/10)

“Jurassic World Evolution 3 is unquestionably the finest dinosaur park management game ever created. Any issues or concerns I had with the initial two games have either been enhanced or entirely resolved. The campaign and challenge modes are worth experiencing, but you’ll find yourself completely engrossed in constructing and managing your park in the sandbox mode. It’s a splendid combination of nostalgia and modern game design, and is certainly worth investing countless hours of your life into.”

Push Square (8/10)

“Jurassic World Evolution 3 is precisely what it should be. There are new elements to the formula established by its forerunners that augment the experience rather than detract from it, and it elevates what the series had done well in the past. Dinosaurs are the focal point, and whether you’re here to help establish dinosaur families or simply wish to see a massive lizard devouring the patrons, this third chapter delivers.”

IGN (8/10)

“Jurassic World Evolution 3 expands on an already formidable foundation to provide aspiring dinosaur theme park managers greater control than ever before. New functionalities and quality-of-life enhancements make the third chapter the apex of the series, even though the Scenario mode pales in comparison to the prior game’s Chaos Theory. If constructing and maintaining a dinosaur theme park is your idea of enjoyment, Evolution 3 has much to offer.”

TheGamer (8/10)

“Jurassic World Evolution 3 doesn’t revolutionize the park-building formula, nor does it leap considerably beyond the previous games, but it refines it in significant ways. It’s more intelligent, visually enhanced, and its management systems are both intricate and adaptable. Minor rough spots, repetitive sequences, and occasional AI issues prevent it from achieving perfection, but there’s plenty to appreciate, especially for management enthusiasts who enjoy fine-tuning every system at their command.”

GameGrin (7/10)

“If you desire a game that allows you to revisit some of the creatures you cherished as a child while also not being overly demanding, then Jurassic World Evolution 3 is ideal for that. It undeniably offers the most fulfilling experience if you have never played the other two games. However, if you have engaged with the prior titles, then you might find the additions a tad insufficient aside from the new building features and baby dinosaurs.”

GamesRadar (3.5/5)

“A robust park builder whose allure is typically enough to allow you to overlook its shortcomings. Jurassic World Evolution 3 could have been even better without the busywork and glitches, which hold it back just enough to prevent it from becoming an instant classic.”

At the moment of writing, Jurassic World Evolution 3 has a Metacritic score of 81 and an Open Critic rating of 85 – so that’s certainly a solid beginning for Frontier’s dinosaur-filled park creator. The game is available now on Xbox Series X|S, priced at $59.99 / £49.99 on the platform.
