Time to utilize some Xbox credit
We’ve got some rather bittersweet news to share today, as although Rock Band 4 is marking its 10th anniversary in just a few days, it will coincide with the delisting of the game along with some of its DLC meeting a similar fate.
The anniversary falls on October 6th, but a day prior, on October 5th, the digital editions of Rock Band 4 will be removed from the Xbox and PlayStation stores due to licensing issues – the soundtrack’s license only extends for 10 years.
Here’s the confirmation of this (click the “Read More” button):
Perhaps even more disheartening is the reality that Rock Band 4’s DLC will commence being delisted from October 5th as well, although it appears that not all of the DLC will vanish at once. It’s indicated that tracks will “be removed as they reach their 10-year milestone”, and remember that some of the most recent additions were included just a year or two ago.
Nevertheless, consider this your notice if you’re aiming to procure Rock Band 4 or its DLC on the Xbox Store – it’s time to start seriously contemplating it! I’m planning to load my Xbox account with some funds in the upcoming days, picking up all those tracks I overlooked before, and relaxing with my Riffmaster this weekend. It’s the final countdown!
