The moment could still arrive, but it isn’t happening yet.

Xbox’s sprawling worldwide reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 during Gamescom Opening Night Live is nearly upon us, yet those owning a Switch 2 might want to keep excitement in check—at least for now. Trusted tipster billbil-kun indicates that Microsoft’s next Call of Duty entry will not appear on Nintendo’s latest hybrid console on day one.

In a post on Dealabs, the leaker insists that Xbox headquarters currently shows no inclination to launch Black Ops 7 for Nintendo Switch 2 when it arrives this year. According to the same source, “it remains unclear whether Activision intends to bring a later port to the new platform,” yet no Switch 2 build has surfaced in their ongoing investigations into this year’s installment.

“We can also confirm that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will not be available on Nintendo Switch 2 when it launches this year. However, it remains unclear whether Activision plans a future port to the new console.”

Considering how recently Nintendo debuted its successor system and the relentless annual cadence Xbox keeps for CoD, it’s hardly shocking. That said, Activision reiterated last June that the publisher “remains dedicated to bringing the franchise to Switch,” so for most fans it’s now a when rather than an if.

Additional tidbits from billbil-kun point to a boxed Xbox One | Series edition priced at €80 and a final launch date of November 14; that date was earlier hinted at by TheGhostOfHope last month.
