Remedy Says ‘This Is Just The Start’ As FBC: Firebreak Gets Xbox Game Pass Roadmap

“What lies in store for FBC: Firebreak”

Remedy has published an in-depth glance at “the path forward for FBC: Firebreak”, aiming to refine and broaden the launch-day feel of its cooperative outing on Xbox Game Pass.

The studio kicks things off by confirming that, after rolling out four early hotfixes over roughly the past thirty days, the very first “major content release” will land in September. Although many elements are still being finalized, the Espoo-based developer has already sketched out several initiatives it’s cooking up for this milestone patch and those that follow.

“This isn’t a complete rundown of everything heading to the September Major Update, nor everything that will land afterward, but the items below capture our development priorities for the coming months.”

To begin with, Firebreak will introduce a hands-on tutorial mission “designed to do a better job of teaching you its essential gameplay loops and features”, and the floating on-screen hints you’ll encounter mid-mission are also being sharpened.

For veterans who have scratched past the surface and want the nitty-gritty on core-game additions—expect three fresh heavy weapons slotted into the armoury, and the existing upgrade path is being retired in favour of a robust mod system that opens the door to more granular load-outs.

On the content front, a napkin-sized tease: an all-new Job is being forged for September’s headline update. Remedy is also reworking the current Jobs—including implementing a brand-new ‘Crisis Board’ function aimed at boosting mission variety within FBC: Firebreak.

“The first Major Update will drop a completely new Job requiring you to locate and eradicate—and ideally not ingest—strains of mould, through a contraption we nick-name ‘the sushi train’… more on that soon. For now, know we’re adding a bespoke level, three Zones, one fresh status effect, another pair of enemy types, and everything else you’d anticipate from brand-new Job content.”

If sugary details are your thing, Remedy expands on each bullet in its newly-posted Steam dev-blog. Expect a flurry of adjustments and extras to wiggle their way into this Xbox Game Pass title with September’s drop—and long after that.
