It’s quietly been fixed now though
You know that we always round up all of next week’s Xbox releases on a Saturday here at Pure Xbox, and we tend to prepare those on the Friday – so imagine my surprise when I spotted an upcoming Xbox release with a $500 price tag!
The game in question is Golf Up, which was displaying a pre-order price of £419.99 / $499.99 on the Microsoft Store for quite some time, to the point where it even attracted attention from some Xbox fans. Here’s a look:
Fortunately, Microsoft has now fixed the issue and adjusted the price to just £5.79 / $6.99 (literally in the midst of writing up this article), so don’t worry – you won’t have to pay the full $500 just to play this upcoming indie golf game!
It does beg the question of why this happens in the first place though. It’s not the first time – Panzer Dragoon Orta was once being sold for $2,699.90 in New Zealand, for example. Not a big deal by any means, but it’s definitely strange to see instances like this, and here’s hoping no-one actually paid this ridiculous pre-order fee!
