Update []: Bethesda has now addressed the concerns regarding the Oblivion Remastered update, indicating that it was meant as a quick fix which wouldn’t affect gameplay, however, certain graphics configurations have been influenced (notably on PC). The team is diligently working on a solution that will be deployed ASAP.
Here’s the comprehensive message from Bethesda that was posted on Reddit earlier today:
“The fix we implemented today was for minor backend modifications and nothing that directly affects gameplay, but we’ve noticed it’s altered some Microsoft Store players’ UI settings for graphical options. Specifically, concerning upscaling and anti-aliasing. Any graphics settings modified prior to the Microsoft Store hotfix are still active and function properly. You’ll just be temporarily unable to adjust those settings because of the issue with the settings UI. The team is investigating and is working on a fix, we will provide more details as soon as possible.”
Original Narrative: It’s only been a few days since Bethesda launched The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on Xbox consoles and PC, and we already have its initial update today! Sadly, it’s causing a few complications at first glance.
The PC iteration of Oblivion Remastered seems to have modified some video settings that influence DLSS and upscaling. Since its release, Bethesda has received multiple reports from players encountering problems:
This primary update for Oblivion Remastered is also live on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S (it’s only a few GB), but we are still awaiting Bethesda to disclose the complete patch notes. As soon as we receive them, we will include them here.
