Pre-orders commence today, encompassing early access
A new NBA 2K installment is on the horizon! It has been revealed that NBA 2K26 will debut for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S on September 5th, 2025 – featuring a week’s early access for select versions of the game.
Information regarding the game is rather scarce at this stage, yet 2K is emphasizing exciting new ProPLAY capabilities, a revamped MyCareer experience, an enhanced City, advancements in MyTeam, and additional features in today’s announcement:
“In NBA 2K26, bragging rights are at stake in every mode. With entirely new ProPLAY features, players on Gen 9 will encounter the immersive technology like never before, as they connect with every dribble and crossover through redesigned size-ups, and enjoy rapid, dynamic movement.”
“Fans can create an exceptional MyPLAYER as they endeavor to attain the height of NBA fame in a reimagined MyCAREER journey and collaborate with friends to confront rival teams in a fresh and better-optimized City. MyTEAM in NBA 2K26 will challenge past and present legends in new single-player and multiplayer modes, while players can lead a franchise as a General Manager in MyNBA, with 30 distinct storylines to secure a championship. Further details on NBA 2K26 will be disclosed in the upcoming weeks.”

Alexander will adorn the Standard Edition of the game, Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese will feature on the WNBA Edition, Carmelo Anthony will be showcased on the Superstar Edition, and all three will appear on the Leave No Doubt Edition.
These Editions will be up for pre-order on the Xbox Store shortly, starting at £69.99 / $69.99 for the Standard Edition and reaching £129.99 / $149.99 for the Leave No Doubt Edition. The Superstar and Leave No Doubt Editions come with numerous in-game rewards along with one week of early access, enabling you to begin playing on August 29th.
