“Initiate quicker, game smoother, strategize smarter”

With ROG Xbox Ally now available, Microsoft is merging its PC and console gaming technologies – and as a component of the team’s October 2025 Update, a preliminary compilation of ROG Xbox Ally games that utilize ‘Advanced Shader Delivery’ has been disclosed.
If you follow PC gaming at all (we acknowledge that we’re not particularly knowledgeable about all of this), you’ve likely encountered — or perhaps even witnessed — games that ‘compile shaders’ prior to their launch on Windows. This can be a rather protracted process based on the specific game, and Microsoft has rolled out this new Advanced Shader Delivery technology to enhance the overall experience on ROG Xbox Ally.
Here’s the initial compilation of games that leverage the technology:
- Ark Survival Ascended
- Avowed
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
- Control
- Dead Island 2
- Deep Rock Galactic
- Farming Simulator 25
- Forspoken
- Final Fantasy XVI
- Forza Horizon 5
- Forza Motorsport
- Gears of War: Reloaded
- Gears Tactics
- Grounded 2
- Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced
- Lies of P
- Metro Exodus
- Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
- Monster Hunter Rise
- Persona 3 Reload
- Resident Evil 2 (2019)
- Resident Evil 3
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl
- Sea of Thieves
- Sniper Elite: Resistance
- South of Midnight
- The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remaster
- Ninja Gaiden 4
- The Callisto Protocol
- The Outer Worlds 2
- Silent Hill f
- Keeper
- Hogwarts Legacy
Xbox states that this feature “preloads game shaders during download, allowing select games to launch up to 10x quicker, operate more seamlessly, and consume less battery on initial play”. Theoretically, this appears to be a valuable enhancement for ROG Xbox Ally users, and we hope the team continues to extend this to additional titles shortly.
On that note, Microsoft concludes this segment of its October 2025 Update by mentioning that “more titles are forthcoming soon.” We will keep an eye out for those – and in the meantime, a general summary of this month’s update is provided below, alongside some additional updates for ROG Xbox Ally in 2025 and 2026.
