Hangar 13 Drops the Details

Well, it’s now officially Mafia: The Old Country month, as Hangar 13’s fresh chapter in the Mafia franchise is slated to launch on Xbox systems August 8th. That means we’re gradually hearing every last scrap of info about the forthcoming adventure—how it’ll handle on both PC and consoles included.

In a fresh post on social media, the studio has built on its earlier PC requirements by dishing out new intel on expected behavior for Xbox Series X and PS5. Both flagship machines will launch with a duo of performance options—one of which promises an “average 60FPS” across the pair.

“Today, we shared PC spec requirements. We‘ve noticed plenty of questions about the console side.

On PS5 and Xbox Series X, Mafia: The Old Country will ship with Quality and Performance modes right out of the gate, averaging 60 fps in Performance Mode.

If you prize sharper resolution and fuller eye-candy, flip on Quality Mode; if you’re out for smoother frame-rates, go with Performance.”

We’ll always applaud choice when it comes to console graphics settings, and we’re optimistic that the 60 FPS goal will hold steady most of the time on Xbox Series X. Based on the wording above, Xbox Series S appears excluded from that extra toggle—unless Hangar 13 changes its tune down the line.

Either way, Mafia: The Old Country is practically on our doorstep, so we’ll soon see exactly how it measures up on both Series X and S. As a reminder, 2K is keeping this new, linear Mafia entry at a friendlier price point—and at that modest launch cost it could be well worth a spin in 2025.
