We’re almost there
In case you were curious—since we omitted it from our massive Nintendo Direct summary earlier—Hades 2 did indeed appear during the stream, yet the Switch iteration is currently locked to that console alone.
We did already realize this some time ago; back in April we noted we expected Hades 2 on Xbox next year rather than 2025, and today’s reveal appears to reinforce that timeline.
So, yes… it lands on Switch 25 September, but other platforms remain unannounced for now.
How did we suss this out in April? Nintendo itself spotlighted the detail in a teaser, affirming Hades 2 would “debut first on Switch 2”. The original title followed an almost identical route, needing nearly twelve months to jump from Switch to Xbox.
Should the sequel mirror that cadence, an Xbox launch around August 2026 seems likely. Then again, the studio might shake things up—maybe we’ll only wait three or six months?
Whatever the final schedule, we’ll shout about the official Xbox date the instant it’s locked in.
