In anticipation of the game’s debut later this month, FromSoftware has released an extensive overview of its upcoming Souls spinoff Elden Ring Nightreign – and it appears just as exhilarating and frenetic as one might expect from a sequel to Elden Ring.
As expected, we’ve included this fresh overview trailer above for you to explore what to anticipate from the title when it arrives on Xbox on May 30th, 2025. Here’s the latest summary of Nightreign from the talented folks at FromSoftware and Bandai Namco:
“Shadows creep over Limveld, endangering the very fabric of our existence. Harness your power, Nightfarers. The Nightlord must be vanquished.
ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN is a self-contained journey within the ELDEN RING realm, designed to provide players a fresh experience by reinterpreting the game’s foundational mechanics.
Unite with other players to confront the advancing darkness and the perils within, featuring a 3-player cooperative mode.
Assume control of uniquely talented heroes, each endowed with distinct abilities and individual charm. While each is a force in themselves, their skills forge formidable synergies when they collaborate.
Surpass an unyielding environmental menace that shifts with each play session and triumph over the grandiose boss of that night!”
Last year, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree marked the team’s inaugural expansion of the immensely popular Elden Ring – with Nightreign set to continue that legacy. Notably, this time around, obtaining Elden Ring itself is not a prerequisite, making it attainable for anyone wishing to engage in some cooperative Souls gameplay.
