Now, returning to update 1.4: Besides the Arachnophobia Mode, some additional highlights in Avowed update 1.4 encompass improved map exploration, the ability to pass time at the Party Camp, and creatures now dropping loot.
Another fantastic new feature is the introduction of mouse and keyboard compatibility on Xbox!
The complete patch notes detailing all bug fixes are available on the Avowed forums, but we will summarize the “community highlights” for you here (the comprehensive list can be quite lengthy!).
Here are the primary patch notes for Avowed update 1.4:
đź•· Arachnophobia Mode Now Active!
The community’s voice has been heard—and we took action! Our brand-new Arachnophobia Mode is now operational in Avowed. This optional feature replaces spider adversaries with round, floating orbs that remain formidable… yet might be somewhat less unsettling. You can switch this option in the Accessibility menu. Just a heads up: friendlier appearance, same fierce bite.
This update introduces a variety of quality-of-life enhancements, many stemming directly from your suggestions:
- Map Exploration Enhancements
- When most of a map’s reachable regions are explored, the fog of war will now completely dissipate.
- Entering a town on an overland map (e.g., Northern Paradis in Dawnshore) will now reveal that section of the map.
- Increased radius for fog clearing while exploring.
- Creature Loot Drops
- Creatures can now be defeated—and may yield loot!
- New Party Camp Feature
- Players can now wait at the Party Camp to progress time.
- Enhanced Soul Pod Functionality
- Soul Pods now dispel illusions (except for Ryngrim’s entrance, which still necessitates Yatzli’s assistance).
- New Settings Options
- Chests may now optionally be shown on the minimap.
- Power attacks with the Bow and Arquebus can now be canceled with a new option.
- Introduced support for mouse and keyboard input on Xbox
