Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora Is Getting A Third-Person Mode On Xbox

Scheduled to arrive in a patch before the year is out

Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment have revealed an upcoming patch for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and it bundles in a long-requested third-person viewpoint for the Xbox Series X|S edition of the title.

The catch is that players won’t get to dive in until December 5th, a date that also brings New Game+ and additional brand-new content. On the bright side, we can still catch a glimpse of how the third-person camera is shaping up via the trailer embedded above.

“See Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora through a different lens: Third-Person View, New Game+, and extras, all dropping in December’s patch on the 5th.”

The timing lines up neatly with the movie Avatar: Fire and Ash’s theatrical release—just a fortnight after the game’s new build lands—so December is shaping up to be stacked for Avatar enthusiasts.

Back in 2023, we reviewed Frontiers of Pandora and walked away with mixed emotions about the adventure. One nagging issue we cited was sluggish combat; ideally, flipping to third-person will iron out those kinks and make Ubisoft’s Na’vi romp a smoother thrill ride in 2025.
