Xbox Pulls Back The Curtain On Two Behind-Closed-Doors Showcases
Occasionally, the team at Xbox gives the media exclusive behind-closed-doors showcases, allowing us a glimpse at several forthcoming games—usually including a select few Xbox indie titles about to launch in the near future.
Already in April, we’ve experienced two of these events—one titled the “Xbox EMEA Developer Sessions,” which Pure Xbox attended, and another known as the “Xbox Asia Developer Sessions,” which Pure Xbox was not present for.
While we regrettably can’t share all the visuals we were able to see, we can at least share the titles of the games featured—so we will provide trailers for each of them below. Three out of the five games showcased in the EMEA Developer Sessions are upcoming Xbox Game Pass offerings—Moonlighter 2, Winter Burrow, and The Alters—and they all appear to be fantastic additions to the service later this year.
The other two games are Outbound and Hela, and wow—these are definitely titles to keep an eye on! Outbound is a multiplayer open-world exploration game that boasts stunning visuals and a relaxed vibe, while Hela serves as a spiritual successor to the Unravel series, a title that numerous Split Fiction enthusiasts will likely be drawn to.

Xbox EMEA
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault (TBD 2025) – Xbox Game Pass

Winter Burrow (TBD 2025) – Xbox Game Pass
Pine Creek Games and Noodlecake’s Winter Burrow is a cozy survival game set in the woods, where a mouse embarks on a journey to restore their childhood burrow. Explore, gather resources, craft, knit warm sweaters, bake pies, and meet the locals. Coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows PC in 2025—and also you can play it on day one with Game Pass.
Outbound (TBD 2026)
Set in a stunning open world, Square Glade’s Outbound invites players to craft their ideal mobile home—starting with a modest camper van and transforming it into a personalized retreat. Whether alone or with friends, players will gather materials, construct using modular pieces, and adapt their creations to ever-changing environments. With limitless customization and a world waiting to be explored, this experience redefines the joy of discovery and survival at your own pace. Slated for release on Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC in 2026.
The Alters (TBD 2025)
11 bit studios’ The Alters is an ambitious sci-fi survival game with a unique twist. You play as Jan Dolski, the sole survivor of a crashed expedition on a hostile planet. To survive, you must create a new crew for your mobile base. Using a substance called Rapidium, you can create different versions of Jan—THE ALTERS—each shaped by a distinct decision from the protagonist’s past. Coming to Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC in 2025—and you can also play it on day one with Game Pass.
Hela (TBD)
Immerse yourself in the journey of a brave mouse in this exciting 3D adventure, where stunning landscapes inspired by Scandinavia come alive.
