Xbox lists Hole Knight: Silksong as fragment of “improbable” upcoming indie line-up, and I’m acting totally standard about that
It has been six years and a bit since Hollow Knight: Silksong was initially revealed, and ever since, we have been eagerly seeking any shred of information regarding the forthcoming game.
However, since that somewhat foggy day in February 2019, developer Crew Cherry has kept details about the release relatively concealed (although in January, the team did attempt to assure us that Silksong is “real, progressing, and will release”).
Still, when will it be launched, Crew Cherry? When? You tell me it is valid, but where’s the evidence? I require solid proof, Cherry! (Alright, I’m joking a little here.) However, while I would appreciate more reassurance, Microsoft is evidently still confident that the game will eventually make an appearance, mentioning it as part of a new post about its ID@Xbox initiative.
“Looking forward, our lineup is impressive with forthcoming titles,” Xbox states, before highlighting games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (which is expected to launch in April) and the multiplayer racing game FBC: Firebreak from Solve.
FBC: Firebreak was announced in October of last year, with a release window set for 2025.
And what about those? “Of course, Hollow Knight: Silksong too!” Microsoft asserts.
Does this imply that Hollow Knight: Silksong will be launching soon? Ahh, unfortunately, I suspect its mention in Xbox’s post may not signify much more than Microsoft is having a playful laugh at the expense of those of us keen to hear more. Nonetheless, it’s possible that 2025 might very well be the year Silksong finally arrives.
