Video games on demand

Here in the UK, Just Eat is recognized as one of the top food delivery applications available – it competes with services like Deliveroo and Uber Eats to provide fresh (and sometimes not-so-fresh) meals to customers across the nation. In recent years, these types of apps have started to diversify in terms of what they deliver – and today, Just Eat has announced that it is expanding to include video games as part of their rapid online delivery services.

That’s right, well-known UK second-hand game retailer CEX is now collaborating with Just Eat. Fans can order games, accessories, cables – and even full video game consoles directly to their homes in record time. We’ve tested the app here at PX HQ and can reportedly get a variety of Xbox items delivered to our door in only 30 minutes (supposedly).

We first learned about this exciting development from the outlet Eurogamer, who shared a brief statement from the retailer today:

“We’re thrilled to extend the reach of CEX to millions of Just Eat customers, making it even faster for them to obtain the tech treasures they desire,”

Currently, after browsing our local store’s inventory, we can report that the selection is quite limited at the moment – it doesn’t even include items like Xbox 360 games and consoles. However, with CEX being regarded as one of the best places to find older gaming treasures in the UK – we’re optimistic that the retailer will enhance its Just Eat offerings in the coming months.

Even with the limited choices available right now, we’re certainly tempted to give this service a try. It could be a great way to satisfy that impulse-buy urge we all experience at times, which is usually why we have accrued so many digital purchases over the years. Get those Xbox games ready, Just Eat drivers, we want a new copy of Halo at your earliest convenience.
