The grand event is just a week away
It has certainly sneaked up on us, but The Game Awards 2024 is now less than a week away! The final major gaming event of the year promises to bring some delightful surprises and plenty of announcements, but will Xbox have anything significant to share?
The most notable moment in Xbox history at The Game Awards occurred during the 2019 edition – when Phil Spencer took the stage to unveil the Xbox Series X for the first time. There were other major reveals as well, including the Perfect Dark reboot, along with Marvel’s Blade being announced at least a year prior.
So, what can we anticipate this year? It feels as though we already know much of Xbox’s 2025 lineup, but a major project that’s further down the line (like the previously mentioned Marvel’s Blade) could possibly be featured in the showcase. While it seems unlikely we’ll see a new console again, perhaps some kind of new hardware could be revealed too? Fingers crossed!
Our biggest prediction, however, is that Black Myth: Wukong will finally receive an official Xbox release date. It has been rated for Xbox recently, and it is nominated for Game of the Year, making it prime for an Xbox announcement. It would mirror what happened with Baldur’s Gate 3 last year.
