Or perhaps it’s Microsoft’s ‘VP of next generation’ Jason Ronald
If you missed the news, Lenovo seems to be preparing to unveil its first ‘Legion Scramble’ SteamOS handheld during a special “future of gaming handhelds” event at CES ’25 on January 7, 2025.
While this may not seem directly related to Xbox, in light of the ongoing discussions about a potential Xbox handheld device, The Verge has pointed out that Microsoft’s Jason Ronald will also be participating in the panel. Additionally, he is now recognized as Xbox’s “VP of next generation.”
“Steam Deck co-designer Pierre-Loup Griffais won’t be the only interesting choice for panelist on stage: Jason Ronald, Microsoft VP of Xbox Gaming Devices and Ecosystem, will also be present. He is now being referred to as Microsoft’s “VP of Next Generation.”
Ronald has played a significant role in the development of Xbox hardware over the years, and his title change suggests he will continue to be a key component of the brand’s future. As for what he will address on the panel – it hasn’t been disclosed yet, but there may be some insights related to Microsoft’s OS or its Xbox gaming offerings.
Xbox has already expressed interest in venturing into the portable gaming market with its own device, and company executives have confirmed that more Xbox hardware is on the horizon.
As soon as we receive additional information, we will ensure you are informed.
