A speculation suggests that it might also be entirely devoid of PvP.
Update[
Original Story: There is currently no solid evidence that a Gears Collection is in existence, but everyone seems to be discussing it after the recent rumors that have emerged—particularly the one indicating it could be revealed and launched later this year.
“Gears of War Collection should be releasing early to mid August. It is PS5 Pro enhanced, but I have been told NO Multiplayer PVP, campaign focus only.”
“The game is loaded onto the PS storefront on the back end (this also applies to other titles I have mentioned previously). It shows 1 player and does not show support for additional players. I inquired about co-op, but have yet to receive clarification on that.”
The primary focus of a Collection would likely be to prepare gamers ahead of Gears of War: E-Day‘s release later this year or next year, which makes prioritizing the campaign seem reasonable. However, it is significant to recognize issues similar to Halo: The Master Chief Collection not incorporating multiplayer, and it feels like we’re facing a similar predicament here.
We’ll be concerned if Xbox announces a Gears Collection at the Xbox Games Showcase in June that doesn’t include multiplayer in any form, but who knows? There would certainly be considerable discontent if that were to occur…
