Are you excited to obtain all Tea Bowls for Rikyu in Assassin’s Creed Shadows? There are seven of these items located throughout Japan, so it might initially seem like a daunting task. However, with a bit of exploration and mission progress, you should be able to find everything you wish for.
Where to locate all Tea Bowls for Rikyu in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
The tea bowl items are part of a quest aptly titled Tea Bowls for Rikyu. However, the quest might not be available right from the start due to certain prerequisites. Here’s the summary:
- You will need to finish the arc to discover the Golden Teppo, a member of the Shinbakufu.
- You will encounter an NPC named Sen no Rikyu along the way. You also need to collect other items, such as the kosode and tea merchant.
- It’s up to you whether you confront Otama or Wakasa. Either way, you will have to deal with the Golden Teppo.
- Continue and complete the entire arc until Naoe and Yasuke join forces to continue to Act 2 of the campaign.
- Sen no Rikyu should then appear as an NPC in the People of Yamashiro section of the Targets board.
Where to find Sen no Rikyu and the tea bowls?
To begin the Assassin’s Creed Shadows Tea Bowls for Rikyu quest, you must go to Sen no Rikyu’s residence in Kyoto. It is located just south of the northern kakurega building and west of the Imperial Palace.
Upon meeting Rikyu, you may be requested to find seven tea bowls that he wishes to add to his collection. Here’s a quick overview:
- Six of these can be purchased from vendors in different cities. Each costs 125 mon.
- The seventh and final item can be obtained after you defeat The Vibrant, a member of the Shinbakufu group.
Where to locate the Osaka ornament vendor?
For our first stop, let’s visit Sakai in the Izumi Settsu area. The ornament vendor in this village is located right near the Port of Sakai marker. Speak to the NPC and acquire the tea bowl for 125 mon.
Map of tea bowl locations
The map above illustrates the locations of the other Tea Bowls for Rikyu in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. These are all sourced from ornament vendors in various towns and settlements:
- Yamashiro: Kyoto – Quite close to the southern kakurega building.
- Omi: Sakamoto – North of the kakurega building and Sake Brewery.
- Omi: Azuchi – From the Sokenji Pagoda fast travel point in the city, head southwest across the bridge until you find the vendor’s stall.
- Wakasa: Obama – Thank you. Make your way to the town and note the Obama Guard Tower fast travel point. Then, head directly southeast to reach the Kara Market.
- Tamba: Kameyama – Right next to the kakurega building, which is located well south of the main castle.
The Vibrant and the Classic Tea Bowl Collection
To obtain the final Assassin’s Creed Shadows Rikyu tea bowl, you must eliminate The Vibrant, certainly one of the members of the Shinbakufu group. To be clear, this task may take some time:
- Continue progressing through the campaign by defeating Shinbakufu members and addressing Yasuke’s and Naoe’s personal quests. Ultimately, you’ll need to seek information about The Vibrant in the Targets board.
- You may need to travel to the Yamato area, which features enemies around level 35.
- Then, you must speak with a shrine maiden named Fuyu. She is located at Omiwa Shrine in the Nara Heartland sub-area.
- Continue further into this arc, during which you will have to broker a peace treaty between two rival clans.
- Eventually, the true identity of The Vibrant will be revealed. Unsurprisingly, it is the monk leader Joken Hokkyo.
- Defeat Hokkyo to finish this task. You should then be able to acquire the Winds of War legendary kusarigama and the Classic Tea Bowl series.
Should you invite your friends or foes for the tea ceremony?
Return to Sen no Rikyu and present all the items that you have gathered. You will then be asked whether you would like to invite friends or enemies to the tea ceremony. Here’s what happens:
- Invite friends – A brief scene will occur where Naoe, Yasuke, and Junjiro share tea together.
- Invite enemies – This leads to a mini-quest called Fish in a Barrel. High-value targets from other assassination boards (i.e., non-Shinbakufu members) may appear in the courtyard.
