Despite being released in early access, Path of Exile 2 is packed with content. From the engaging main storyline to additional bosses and an endless endgame, you’re definitely getting your money’s worth by participating in early access. Some players might find themselves investing hundreds of hours into Path of Exile 2 just by exploring the game’s initial content.
However, if you’re trying to determine precisely how much time you need to invest in Path of Exile 2 before you’ve “completed” it, that’s a different story. Below, you can discover how long it takes to finish Path of Exile 2, how much time is required to reach the endgame, and a comprehensive quest list to track your progress.
How long to complete Path of Exile 2
As an ARPG, Path of Exile 2 can never truly be “beaten.” Most ARPGs follow a similar structure, featuring a primary campaign followed by an endgame phase. The endgame is what you make of it, and you can spend as much time as you like with a particular character engaging in endgame content.
With this in mind, completing Path of Exile 2 can be considered as simply reaching the endgame after progressing through all campaign acts. In early access, you’ll need to advance through three acts before accessing the endgame. This number of acts will eventually increase to six at the full game launch.
However, merely completing the three acts will not get you to the endgame. Instead, you first need to finish the three acts on the normal difficulty, which brings you to level 45. Following that, you are required to complete Acts 1-3 again on Cruel difficulty to finally reach the endgame. Accomplishing all this will typically result in your character being around level 65.
Your initial attempt at completing the three acts may take around 25 hours in Path of Exile 2. Then, you will need an additional 15-20 hours to complete the acts again on Cruel difficulty. This brings the total time to reach the endgame to approximately 40-50 hours per character.
Should you wish to play as a different class in Path of Exile 2, you’ll need to repeat the same process again. This would mean another 40-50 hours to achieve the endgame with that character.
Once you reach the endgame in Path of Exile 2, the world is yours to explore. You have the flexibility to spend any additional amount of time with any character as you navigate through endgame content. The current level cap in Path of Exile 2 early access is level 100, although it may not be worth it to strive to surpass that limit just yet.
