Transformers: Deactivate
- by Ben Kerry
Yesterday, Gears Ways studio Splash Ruin announced the unfortunate news that its new Transformers game has officially been cancelled. In the aftermath of this cancellation, some Transformers: Reactivate gameplay footage has now surfaced online.
Shared on social media late last night, more than six minutes of Reactivate gameplay can now be seen below. While it’s clear this is a work-in-progress and far from finished, it’s intriguing to check out nonetheless.
Considering the game’s developmental state, we genuinely think this footage looks quite impressive. Transformers: Reactivate seems like it could have featured a fairly expansive world for fans to unleash destruction in – and the graphics appear as if they could have been rather stunning with additional development time.
Ultimately, this Splash Ruin-produced Transformers game simply wasn’t meant to be, as the studio was “unable to bring the game to launch” during what is proving to be a challenging period for game developers out there. We wish the studio all the best and hope that another developer can step in and create a quality new Transformers game in the near future.
What do you think about this Transformers: Reactivate footage? Feel free to share your thoughts on the gameplay below.
