After numerous hours of exploring three different maps in Avowed, you finally arrive at Galawain’s Tusks in search of the legendary Garden. Galawain’s Tusks is certainly the least visually appealing map in the game, with the lava from Mt. Forja and Solace Keep along with the acidic sea giving the entire area a reddish, gray hue. Nevertheless, Galawain’s Tusks is undeniably the largest map in Avowed, full of things to see and do once you arrive.

Opening your map for the first time in Galawain’s Tusks can feel quite overwhelming, as the scale of the region is unlike anything you’ve seen so far. Fortunately, we spent hours meticulously combing through the entire map to clear up all the fog. In the guide below, you can view the uncovered Galawain’s Tusks map along with some points of interest to help you gain a much better understanding of where you are headed.

Overview of Galawain’s Tusks in Avowed

Technically, there are three distinct regions within Galawain’s Tusks, and there is very little that will hinder your exploration of the entire map. Although there are indeed mountains, bridges, and towers surrounding each part of the map, you can actually explore all of it. Here are the key locations you might encounter in Galawain’s Tusks:

  • The Sallow Steppe
  • Resting Fields
  • Twinedwood
  • Solace Keep
  • Primordial Depths
  • Ash Woodland
  • Mt. Forja

Mt. Forja is the only area in Galawain’s Tusks that is not immediately accessible upon your arrival. Part of that region can only be explored during the main story quest in Avowed. Conversely, the rest of the map is engaging gameplay that can take hours to navigate.

As you progress in the main storyline, additional areas will reveal themselves to you. However, for the most part, these are locations you wouldn’t discover unless guided there by the story quests.

Key Points of Interest in Galawain’s Tusks

Given the vastness of Galawain’s Tusks, it is not surprising that there are many fast travel beacons and camp waystones scattered throughout the map. In total, Galawain’s Tusks features 9 fast travel beacons and only three camp waystones. Interestingly, there are no fast travel beacons located anywhere in the main hub city of Solace Keep. To reach it, you must fast travel to the beacon just outside the drawbridge and then run there. It is also worth mentioning that some fast travel beacons remain unusable until you reach specific points in the story.

Here is a list of some additional key points of interest in Galawain’s Tusks:

Strangled Adra

  • Located south of The Sallow Steppe and directly east of your starting point in Galawain’s Tusks.

The Instruct

  • Found near the Restless Cavern in the southwestern part of Resting Fields. You need to climb to the top of a cliff to access it. The Resting Fields area is accessible via a bridge over the lava river.

Pargrun Cache

  • The Pargrun Cache in Galawain’s Tusks provides valuable rewards and contains two pieces of the Totem of Perseverance. You can find the Pargrun Cache by heading to the Lost Village, which is located north of Solace Keep at the northern edge of the map.

Mapping the Living Lands Cartographer
