The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke has disclosed the title of episode 1 from The Boys season 5 – and it appears to be like like a clear nod to a particular adult-themed supe that we all recognize and appreciate.

The title for The Boys season 5 episode 1 is “Fifteen Inches of Sheer Dynamite,” and if you’re familiar with the comics, this refers to none other than Love Sausage. This phrase is utilized in The Boys issue no. 14 to illustrate the dimensions of Love Sausage’s…well, love sausage. Check out the image below.

The supe was born in Russia as Vasilii Vorishikin, a police officer during the day and a supe at night. The Boys no. 14 is entitled The Lively 5-Year Plan, which describes the team of superheroes that Love Sausage led prior to adopting the rather unsavory title we now know him by. In the Prime Video adaptation, Love Sausage comes to the US and is promptly admitted to the Story Grove Center where he becomes a test subject for Vought International and is given a brand new stabilized version of Compound V – which grants him, uh, unusual superhero abilities and powers.

After playing a significant role in The Boys season 3 episode “Herogasm,” Love Sausage appears most briefly in The Boys season 4. It’s great to know we’re kicking off the final season with a rather strong appearance.
