“We are pleased to provide more information”

After examining some of the efficiency modes for Xbox Series X in Assassin’s Creed Shadows earlier this week, Ubisoft has disclosed the comprehensive console specifications for the game – which includes an additional Series X mode along with crucial details about the Xbox Series S version of AC Shadows.

For Xbox Series X, we have a 60FPS efficiency mode, a 30FPS Consistency mode, and a 40FPS Balanced mode – the latter primarily functions optimally with 120Hz monitors. Meanwhile, Xbox Series S users will experience solely the 30FPS Consistency mode at launch.

As you can observe in the chart above, all Series X game modes are upscaled to 4K in the visual department – and they are likely utilizing dynamic resolution scaling, which should yield improved results if you choose a lower frame rate setting. On Series S, Microsoft’s all-digital console is upscaling its 30FPS Consistency mode to 1620p – and both consoles support ray tracing in some form.

After a series of delays that pushed the game out of 2024 completely, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is finally set to be released for Xbox on March 20th. The title is expected to last around 30-40 hours for the primary campaign, marking Ubisoft’s first next-gen release in the Assassin’s Creed franchise.
