A tremendous surprise in the gaming world?

[Update: Feb 19th, 2pm] Building on the speculation from yesterday regarding a new Tony Hawk launch, we have received further insights from renowned insider eXtas1s which adds more detail to this rumor.

According to the well-known Xbox leaker, Microsoft plans to reveal Tony Hawk’s Professional Skater 3+4 at the Xbox Games Showcase this summer. Additionally, eXtas1s states that the game will launch right after the event – effectively making this a surprise drop from Team Green, if it happens.

The latest piece of information from this leak suggests that the game will be available on multiple platforms in addition to Xbox, which should come as no surprise at this point. For now, this remains merely a rumor, and we will likely have to wait until the Xbox Games Showcase — typically held in June — to find out for sure.

[Original: Feb 18th, 3:43pm] Fans have been eager to get their hands on a new Tony Hawk title ever since the exceptional Tony Hawk’s Professional Skater 1+2 was released back in 2020, and it seems we might finally be receiving something from Xbox and Activision soon!

This information stems from an interview with professional skater Tyshawn Jones during a recent appearance on Breakfast Club Power 105.1 FM (thanks, Insider Gaming), where Jones hinted that he will be featured in an upcoming Tony Hawk remaster:

“I’m in a Tony Hawk coming out so that’s cool. They have a new one they are remastering, so that’s about to come out. I was in the last one.”

Last year, Tony Hawk himself teased that he was collaborating with Activision on “insanely exciting” twenty-fifth anniversary plans for the series, promising something that “the fans will genuinely enjoy”.

We will have to wait and see what develops, but we are assuming that if it is the real deal, it will likely be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one – given that Xbox currently owns the Tony Hawk IP. What will these remasters entail? Which studio is handling the project? Hopefully, we will have answers to these questions soon!

Excited about a potential new Tony Hawk remaster on Xbox? Let us know in the comments below.
