The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep Unveils a Mysterious Scene Cut from the Live-Action Series

The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep – the Witcher anime arriving on Netflix next month – is set in the midst of the live-action series, precisely between episodes 5 and 6, and features a scene that was omitted from Henry Cavill’s inaugural season.

As highlighted in this month’s SFX magazine and relayed by GamesRadar+, creator Mike Ostrowski and co-creator Rae Benjamin describe it as “a time of separation [with Yennefer], or a phase of distress, but they remain on each other’s thoughts.”

The writers state they do not interfere with the live-action series’ chronology or timeline, yet the anime does feature a “fun little scene” that was allegedly left out of the main Netflix series.

What, specifically, does that scene entail? We will have to wait until the series premieres on February 11th, unfortunately – the writers wouldn’t disclose more. However, since Anya Chalotra reprises her role as Yennefer in the anime, the writers hint that we will witness more of Geralt and Yennefer’s bond in Sirens of the Deep.

“Geralt cannot release Yennefer, even though he’s making every effort,” Ostrowski remarked. “She haunts him. Even if he wished to be free of her, he cannot.”
