The beloved Verdansk map from Call of Duty is set to return on April 3.

Activision announced on social media, stating “it’s time to revisit a location filled with unforgettable memories.”

The map’s comeback will coincide with Season 3 of Sad Ops 6 and Warzone, marking a celebration of Warzone’s fifth anniversary.

The return of Verdansk was announced last year – it is the original map for the battle royale that has been absent for some time.

Activision announced a delay to Season 3 last week, which was widely expected to include the Verdansk map. Now, it is officially confirmed.

The return of Verdansk mirrors the approach taken by Narrative with the revival of Fortnite‘s original OG map, which achieved a record-breaking player count of 44.7 million in just 24 hours. It has now become a permanent addition to Fortnite. PUBG has also reinstated its classic map, Erangel.

It is hoped that this new season can significantly enhance the fortunes of Call of Duty this year.

Before the start of the second season, Activision acknowledged it was tackling rampant cheating, admitting that cheaters “are frustrating and severely impact the experience for our community.”
