It has been several years since the release of Rival Schools game, yet fans still have some exciting launches to look forward to this year. Not only is the Rival Schools sequel, Project Justice, set to appear in the upcoming Capcom Fighting Collection 2, but the beloved Capcom fighting game franchise will also be getting a new Rival Schools: Complete Works artbook. The hardcover volume will provide a comprehensive look into the visual art and design history of the series when it is released on April 29, 2025. Preorders are currently available and reduced to just $40 (was $50) on Amazon.
Rival Schools: Complete Works
$40 (was $50) | Releases April 29
Similar to other Capcom Complete Works volumes released by Udon Entertainment, this Rival Schools edition compiles artworks from all three Rival Schools games, including main art, character illustrations, design sketches, unused character concepts, and much more.
The original Rival Schools game, Rival Schools: United By Destiny, debuted in 1997 and focused on team battles among groups of students from different schools. The series has seen two sequels since then—a Japan-exclusive remake of the original game named Justice Academy: Fighting Spirit Diary 2 in 1999, followed by the sequel Project Justice in 2000. The series has largely remained inactive since then, aside from occasional appearances of Rival Schools characters in other Capcom fighting games, making the new Complete Works artbook and the inclusion of Project Justice in Capcom Fighting Collection 2 later this year especially exciting.
Speaking of which, preorders for the PS4 and Nintendo Switch physical editions of Capcom Fighting Collection 2 are available now on Amazon and include a limited-edition Capcom vs. SNK comic. The collection features eight games, including Project Justice, Capcom vs. SNK 1 and 2, Power Stone 1 and 2, and more.
If you are searching for more Capcom-related literature, a variety of additional Complete Works art books based on the company’s other franchises are available.
