The Game Awards: A Staggering Question Looms — What Will Be the Fate of Swap 2?
It was previously unimaginable for it to be a Nintendo evening and, as anticipated, news regarding Switch was scarce during last night’s TGA 2024 showcase.
Nintendo did not win any awards, but reflecting on the top-tier releases of 2024, one could argue that this was the year Nintendo didn’t need to secure a win. Don’t get us wrong, there were some intriguing titles on Switch, but nothing that would likely be involved in ‘Game of the Generation’ discussions — certainly nothing comparable to Tears of the Kingdom. As much as we adored it, Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom losing to overall GOTY winner Astro Bot in both the Best Action/Adventure and Best Family Game categories is reasonable enough.
