What transpired to Jinx at the conclusion of Arcane season 2? While our Arcane season 2 finale explanation article will provide a complete overview of everything that occurs in the conclusion of the League of Legends spin-off, Riot and Fortiche have left a hint of uncertainty regarding the fate of certain characters, and some observant fans are already picking up on some intriguing details.

This article contains spoilers for the finale of Arcane season 2.

Toward the end of the final episode of Arcane, Jinx, Vi, and Vander find themselves caught in the chaos around the Hexgate. While Jinx is somewhat secure, Vi and Vander are on a platform that is perilously close to falling a considerable distance. With Vi injured from her tumble onto the platform, and Vander reverting to his frenzied state, it seems evident that both are about to plummet to their demise.

Jinx decides to act, utilizing her enhanced speed to body slam Vander, propelling both of them over the edge, yet leaving Vi unharmed. Vi attempts to reach for Jinx, and Vander also manages to grab her before falling himself, prompting Jinx to detach the Hex crystal from Vi’s gauntlets, deactivating them and causing both she and Vander to plummet, telling Vi that they will always be together as she does so.

As Vi cries out in anguish on the platform, Jinx and Vander fall, the former clutching one of her grenades from her pocket in a moment reminiscent of her earlier interaction with Ekko. A dramatic shot then reveals a red and blue explosion – red from Jinx’s grenade and blue from the Hextech core that is shattered in the blast. Jinx disappears from the rest of the narrative, and the combination of her apparent sacrifice and her clear disinterest in surviving after the events at Viktor’s commune suggests that she met her end at the bottom of the hexgate.

Subsequently, we see Caitlyn using family archives to study the structure of the hexgates, specifically focusing on ventilation shafts located on the sides of the structure. Given that everyone knows Jinx has knowledge of Piltover’s ventilation systems already due to her previous attack on Piltover in episode 3, Caitlyn’s manipulation of the shrapnel from the grenade in this moment appears symbolic. Caitlyn goes back to Vi when she hears her humming – the same tune that Powder sings in the very first scene of Arcane episode 1.

The final clue regarding what happened to Jinx at the end of Arcane actually originates from the second scene of Arcane season 1. As Vi, Mylo, Claggor, and Powder ascend towards their heist on Jayce’s estate, they reach a rooftop. As a blimp hovers over their heads towards Piltover, Powder remarks, “one day, I’m gonna ride in one of those things.” That moment – the character’s third line in the entire show – seems to pay off in the very last scene of Arcane Season 2, when a nearly identical airship emerges from the cover above the open ocean, far away from Piltover and Zaun.

There is no certainty that it is Jinx in the pilot’s seat, but there are no other apparent candidates, and we already know from her balloon ship that she is a capable pilot. Coupled with her hallucination of Silco in episode 8, where her late father stresses that the only way t
