Teemu Närhi Takes the Helm Again at Fingersoft to Drive Clear Strategic Vision Forward

The Finnish mobile game studio Fingersoft has announced the reappointment of Teemu Närhi as CEO.

Närhi will officially take charge on February 7, 2025, having previously held the CEO position from 2014 to 2019. He left the role to immerse himself in production, but continued to be part of the board.

The outgoing CEO, Jaakko Kylmäoja, has been at the helm for approximately four years and may transition to the board of directors.

Fingersoft’s founder and chairman, Toni Fingerroos, expressed gratitude to Kylmäoja for guiding the studio through the pandemic and navigating challenging market conditions—which resulted in the studio laying off 14 employees in October of last year (thanks PG.biz).

“We offer our heartfelt thanks to Jaakko Kylmäoja for his exceptional leadership and steadfast commitment to Fingersoft,” he stated.

“During his four years as CEO, he has confronted numerous external challenges, including the pandemic and significant market changes, and he has adeptly guided the company through all of them while developing and releasing successful new titles such as LEGO Hill Climb Adventures. We are delighted to continue benefiting from his expertise on the board of directors.”

Clear direction for Fingersoft going forward

Fingerroos noted that Närhi was reappointed as CEO due to his “extensive expertise” and expressed confidence in his ability to “establish a distinct vision for the company.”

Reflecting on his return to the executive team, Närhi stated that he wants Fingersoft to build upon the success of the Hill Climb Racing franchise while enhancing its studio culture and creating “beloved games.”
