Tantalus Keywords Australia Announces Leadership Transition as CEO Resigns

The CEO of Tantalus, which later became Keywords Australia, is stepping down from his position.

In an unusual statement to GamesIndustry.biz, Tom Crago remarked, “the time has arrived for me to move on to new endeavors and allow others the opportunity to lead.”

Having increased Keywords’ workforce from 38 to 130 employees over the past four years since Tantalus was rebranded as Keywords Australia, Crago stated that being able to expand the company “during a challenging time” in the industry “is something that fills me with pride.”

“Making the choice to resign was far from straightforward,” Crago expressed. “It would have been easier to remain and continue collaborating with the team we have assembled, especially as Keywords progresses rapidly under new ownership. Our team, both in Australia and globally, comprises the most talented and compassionate individuals in the field.”

“I have consistently sought out diverse side projects, ranging from writing books to creating art installations, engaging in academia, and exploring avant-garde cuisine. After a break, it’s my intention to carve out time for more pursuits like these and to delve even deeper into creative experimentation. I’m fortunate that the realm of video games has offered me this kind of freedom.”
