Or are you excited to wait for the full release?

We have numerous first-party Xbox titles slated for 2025 due to this week’s Developer Direct, and don’t overlook about the upcoming title arriving in just a few weeks – Obsidian’s Avowed!

This epic fantasy RPG debuts on Xbox Series X, Series S, PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming on February 18th via Xbox Game Pass, but you’re already aware that there is a way to secure “early access” a few days ahead of the official launch.

If you are an Xbox Game Pass member wishing to maintain your status, the most budget-friendly way to gain early entry is through the “Avowed Premium Upgrade Addon,” which costs £17.99 / $22.49 and provides access starting from February 13th, along with several Premium Skin Packs, a Digital Artbook, and the Original Soundtrack.

The “Addon” version does not include the actual game itself (which is why it’s exclusively for Xbox Game Pass members), whereas the standard “Premium Edition” does, although it is considerably pricier at £89.99 / $89.99.

It has been confirmed through titles like Starfield and Forza Motorsport that the “upgrade” versions have been generally well-received, but the big difference this time is that there isn’t much in the way of high-cost DLC offered alongside the early access. When it comes to Avowed, you are essentially just paying for a chance to get hands-on before everyone else.

Should you spend your hard-earned money on this? We’re not ready to take a stand on that just yet. It might be wise to wait and see what the reviews are like, but if you’re eager to dive into Avowed as soon as possible, then by all means go for it. You can also use any leftover Microsoft Rewards points for it if you have any!

What are your intentions for Avowed and early access? Let us know in the comments section below.
