Surprise Opponents Unveils Exciting Crossover Event with Surprise Snap and More Mobile Games!
No longer only confined to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we are also set to explore the Marvel Gaming Universe, as Marvel Rivals announces an exciting crossover with its mobile gaming kin.
In a tweet from the official Marvel Rivals Twitter account, they revealed a crossover event featuring Marvel’s mobile games: Marvel Snap, Marvel Puzzle Quest, and Marvel Future Fight. Scheduled to kick off on January 3rd, 2024, the specifics of this event remain unannounced, with the post simply stating “Stay tuned for further updates!”
💥 We’re collaborating with MARVEL Snap, MARVEL Puzzle Quest, and MARVEL Future Fight to bring you an exciting new partnership launching January 3rd! Keep an eye out for additional details! #MarvelRivals pic.twitter.com/NNUghoh6kYDecember 30, 2024
Fans are speculating about the potential introduction of unique cosmetic items in Marvel Rivals, such as sprays and nameplates, which will likely be obtainable through participation in the three mobile games, possibly by completing specific challenges.
While Marvel Rivals is currently drawing much attention within Marvel’s gaming portfolio, Marvel Snap has proven to be a significant hit for both the company and developer Second Dinner. Since its launch in 2022, the game has garnered a substantial player base, reportedly generating over $200 million in revenue by September 2024 according to The Hollywood Reporter.
This upcoming event marks the first significant crossover for Marvel Rivals, which was only released less than a month ago. However, it is highly unlikely to be the last. The game features a variety of available costumes inspired by Marvel films and TV series, and with numerous Marvel movies slated for release in 2025 and beyond, it seems improbable that the company and its developer NetEase Games would pass up opportunities for future crossover events.
