Summer Sports Fest 2025: A Groundbreaking Showcase Hosted by Geoff Keighley Featuring a New “Thought Leadership Tournament” on Change and Innovation
Summer Game Fest 2025 has been officially announced for June, with Geoff Keighley returning as the host alongside a unique “thought leader event.”
As revealed in a press release, SGF will kick off with a two-hour live in-person showcase that will be streamed across various platforms on Friday, June 6 from 2-4 PM PT / 5-7 PM ET / 10-12 AM GMT. The gathering will once again take place at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles.
As the unofficial replacement for E3, Summer Game Fest 2025 is expected to feature “exciting new video game announcements, surprises, and showcases.” Given that we are still several months away, there is currently very little information regarding what those announcements may be.
SGF: Play Days, a three-day event for media and content creators, will also return and is scheduled from June 7 to June 9. This will include “immersive displays” and chances for attendees to engage hands-on with upcoming games from over 40 different publishers.
New for 2025 is what is being labeled as a “business-to-business thought leader event” that will “explore some of the key changes, challenges, and opportunities within the global video game industry, as well as celebrate the cultural significance and impact of video games as a leading form of entertainment worldwide.”
The in-person event will be held in downtown LA and is being organized by former GamesIndustry.biz head Christopher Dring along with Keighley.
