
Striking Distance Studios Faces Uncertainty as Workforce Reductions Loom
Parent corporation Krafton verifies reports, stating that the “studio is still operational.”
Krafton has reported that the developer of Callisto Protocol, Striking Distance Studios, has experienced yet another round of layoffs.
In a statement provided to PC Gamer, Krafton mentioned that an unspecified number of employees had been dismissed “to stay nimble” and that the studio will “continue to operate.”
“Striking Distance Studios has downsized its workforce to maintain agility, creating a viable atmosphere for the studio at its current developmental phase,” it mentioned.
“The studio is still operational, and these adjustments will not affect any ongoing support that is planned. No further alterations are anticipated at this moment.”
Reports of job losses had been circulating last week, with former concept artist Jesse Lee remarking that “most of the developers were let go” in a LinkedIn post. Former animation director Zach Volker indicated there had been “numerous layoffs” in a different post.
