Stormteller Video Games: Thunderful Gothenberg’s Bold New Identity
“Our strategy moving forward is to extract the finest elements from both studios,” states the head of the studio.
Thunderful Gothenburg has officially rebranded to Stormteller Video games.
Thunderful Gothenburg was originally formed through the merger of Image & Construct and Zoink! Video games in 2017, but it has since undergone a name change to “ensure it truly reflects everyone at the studio.”
The first title under the new brand is Misplaced in Random: The Everlasting Die, scheduled for release later this year.
“One initiative we’ve undertaken that has been quite significant over the past year – and it has indeed taken a year to reach this point – is that we involved everyone in the process, ensuring it encompasses all voices within the studio,” studio head Johan Petersson shared with GamesBeat.
“We began this process last spring, collaboratively brainstorming with anyone who wanted to be a part of it. Early on, it became evident that there was a strong desire to connect the name back to Gothenburg.
“Our strategy now is to strive to combine the best aspects of both studios as we move forward. One of the key points I’ve always advocated for is ensuring we have a sustainable approach to game development, so we are certain we do not exhaust ourselves.
