Stephen King’s Carrie TV exhibit throughout the works from Haunting of Hill House director Mike Flanagan

Mike Flanagan is helming one different Stephen King adaptation – and this time or not it’s a TV exhibit in step with the 1974 new Carrie.

Per Decrease-off date, Flanagan is set to government blueprint the eight-episode sequence alongside Trevor Macy, that may lag utterly on High Video. The current exhibit comes as fragment of Flanagan and Macy’s general handle Amazon, which entails a TV sequence and standalone movie adaptation of The Darkish Tower.

Furthermore to to The Darkish Tower, Carrie marks Flanagan’s fifth collaboration with King. The others embrace the Lustrous sequel Physician Sleep, Gerald’s Sport, and the but-to-be-launched drama The Lifetime of Chuck which stars Tom Hiddleston and Designate Hamill. 

Carrie, King’s first new, hit cupboards in 1974. The story follows Carrie White, a bullied teenage woman from an abusive spiritual household who discovers that she has detrimental, telekinetic powers – which she makes use of to achieve (some moderately much-deserved) revenge. A characteristic-size movie, starring Sissy Spacek as Carrie White and Piper Laurie as her abusive spiritual mom, premiered in 1976 and grossed $33.8 million towards a finances of $1 million. Spacek and Laurie bought Academy Award nominations for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress respectively. A made-for-TV sequel turned as quickly as broadcast in 1999, alongside aspect a made-for-TV remake in 2002. One different remake starring Chloe Moretz as Carrie White hit theaters in 2023.
