Our worldwide ordeal has concluded: we can once again enjoy the Switch version of Stardew Valley without the unreasonable anxiety of crashes. Following the previous update which inadvertently introduced “a few crashes,” a brand new patch is now available to address those issues.
“The Nintendo Switch patch to rectify the last Nintendo Switch patch is out now,” Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone shared on Twitter. “This resolves the odd text problems as well as some crashes that were linked to that. Thank you.”
Patch 1.6.15.1 was released for the Switch version of Stardew Valley on February 26, conveniently in time for the game’s ninth anniversary. It was a relatively minor patch in the vast scope of things – primarily composed of a few bug fixes – and its most notable aspect was arguably Barone’s sincere gratitude to the community for engaging with the game over the last decade.
“I’m very sorry to say this, but there is a mistake in the recent Switch patch,” Barone stated just two days later. The mistakes included some jumbled text, but more significantly, there was a risk of crashing the game entirely whenever you interacted with artifact troves. Fortunately, that is no longer an issue.
Barone is currently dividing his time between updates for Stardew Valley and development on his upcoming game, Haunted Chocolatier. News about the new game has been rather sporadic, but Barone has mentioned that he had his reasons for announcing it so early.
