Sporting Horizons: The Sport Meeting Expands into the UK in Collaboration with Liverpool Metropolis College
Three programs are set to begin in fall 2025 inspired by programming, design, and game creation.
Swedish game development institution The Game Assembly has revealed its expansion into the UK, bringing its educational model to students at the City of Liverpool College.
Beginning in autumn 2025, TGA plans to offer three programs for students interested in entering the gaming industry. These two-year higher education courses focus on three fields: game programming, level design, and game art.
TGA simulates a real-world working environment in these fields throughout the course, promoting “a collaborative, industry-standard atmosphere alongside peers from various disciplines.”
At the end of each academic year, students will have the chance to meet prospective employers to present their portfolios.
TGA noted that following a similar initiative in Sweden, 97% of graduates “found employment in the industry soon after completing their programs.”
“This partnership exemplifies The City of Liverpool College’s reputation as a leader in adult education and enhances our exceptional gaming curriculum,” stated City of Liverpool College Community Principal and CEO Elaine Bowker.
“We are proud to collaborate on this initiative.”
