
Sport Informer returns after being shut down by GameStop
Gunzilla Games acquires publication, will operate independently from the studio under the name Game Informer Inc.
Game Informer has made a comeback after being closed by GameStop in August 2024.
In a message from the editor-in-chief Matt Miller, he disclosed that Gunzilla Games had acquired the publication.
The company attained the rights to the brand, allowing Game Informer to function independently from the studio under the entity Game Informer Inc.
The entire team – which had been previously laid off – has returned, and the website has been restored with its original format. When it was closed, the content was completely removed, hindering the team from preserving their work.
“From the outset, the new proprietors emphasized the importance of Game Informer maintaining its status as an independent editorial platform,” wrote Miller.
