Sony Introduces the Cutting-Edge Xyn VR Headset for Innovative 3D Creation in Media

Sony is introducing an innovative “extended reality” headset named Xyn.
Showcased at CES last year and launched today, January 7, Xyn – pronounced “zin” – is designed for “creating 3D models for films, animation, and video games” and features 4K OLED screens, video passthrough, and “compatibility with external design, modeling, and production software.”
Sony mentioned that by leveraging its “distinctive technology,” Xyn can “precisely capture the real world and effortlessly integrates with a diverse array of external tools to facilitate adaptable workflows.”
As elaborated by The Verge, a video showcasing the device in use demonstrates that the headset’s display can also be flipped upwards when not in use, in addition to being compatible with its newly introduced app, Xyn Scamper Studio.
Currently, there is still no definitive release date or price point.
Sony’s announcement follows closely after Meta’s Quest Pro headset was officially discontinued.
