“We believe the audience would be eager to witness it”

Now that it has been confirmed Sonic will be returning for a fourth live-action film, what’s the next destination for the blue blur?
Though no concrete details have been finalized yet, in a conversation with Collider earlier this month – the writers for Sonic 3, Josh Miller and Pat Casey, hinted that Sonic and the team might potentially venture beyond Earth in future films, exploring various “fantastical zones” and worlds.
Here’s what Casey had to say while emphasizing that the third film was “inherently Earthbound”:
“We certainly recognize that there are other worlds and these additional fantastical zones, and we would love to explore them, so we believe the audience would love to see it as well.”
“For Sonic the Hedgehog 3, the narrative revolved around all this military stuff, which was inherently tied to Earth. But perhaps in the future, we could travel to more extraordinary locations.”
There have been a few zones mentioned in the Sonic live-action films, making it appealing to discover more of Sonic’s universe in his upcoming journeys. Although specific information regarding the fourth film hasn’t been disclosed yet, the ending credits of the third film provide hints of what we might anticipate.
The cumulative profits from the Sonic live-action films have now exceeded the $1 billion mark, with the third installment reportedly earning over $330 million at the global box office in less than a month.
