Paramount Photography announced the news in a recent press statement and mentioned that the third installment in the film series, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, has generated over $187 million in domestic ticket sales and more than $100 million internationally, bringing the total worldwide earnings to over $312 million.

Sonic the Hedgehog and its sequel, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, collectively amassed $725.2 million globally and accounted for $181 million from individual spending on home rentals and purchases.

Knuckles, the television spin-off that launched on Paramount Plus, attracted more than 11 million total viewing hours worldwide during its first 28 days on the streaming service.

Paramount Photography CEO Brian Robbins referred to the video game-adapted film franchise as an “unstoppable cultural phenomenon with limitless possibilities.”

“Congratulations to our partners at SEGA, our filmmaking team, including Neal, Toby, and Jeff, who have elevated the heights that Sonic can achieve, and to the dedicated fans who have guided us at every turn,” he stated.

“As each new episode of Sonic’s adventures continues to elevate expectations, we are exceptionally proud and thrilled to keep delivering narratives and characters that resonate with audiences globally.”
