Sonic Movie Franchise Surpasses $1 Billion Mark Worldwide
The third installment garnered $211.5 million globally within its opening week in theaters
Paramount Pictures’ Sonic film series has exceeded $1 billion in global box office revenue.
As reported by Eurogamer, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 achieved $336.3 million in global earnings after its premiere on December 20, accumulating $211.5 million just in its first week of release.
The first two Sonic films, released in 2020 and 2022, collectively earned $725.2 million and have since generated an additional $181 million from online transactions and rentals.
The third film, featuring Keanu Reeves as Shadow the Hedgehog, received positive reviews with an 86% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. A fourth installment is currently in development.
