Snow Riders: The Exciting Multiplayer Sequel to Lonely Mountains: Downhill Launches Next Week
Available on Xbox, PC, and Game Pass.
Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, the skiing-focused sequel to developer Megagon Industries’ praised cycling game Lonely Mountains: Downhill, now has an official release date and will be available for Xbox, PC, and Game Pass next Tuesday, January 21st.
Just like 2019’s Lonely Mountains: Downhill, Snow Riders emphasizes the journey from the summit to the valley of those striking low-poly mountains as elegantly or as swiftly as possible—though these mountains are now adorned with ice and draped in thick snow.
The carefully designed mountains in Snow Riders include a wealth of cleverly hidden shortcuts to discover in order to trim precious seconds off your descent times, along with a brand new tricks map. However, the major change is the addition of online multiplayer, transforming what was once a primarily solitary experience into a much more thrilling affair.
Solo gameplay remains accessible, of course, but it is now complemented by team-based co-op gameplay—allowing players to share their minor checkpoints—alongside competitive races. This is in addition to numerous challenges to complete, along with new gear, outfits, and tricks to unlock along the way.
Lonely Mountains: Downhill was a delight (Chris Tapsell described it as “magical” when it featured in Eurogamer’s top lists in 2019), and Snow Riders’ most recent update brings excitement.
