Marvel Rivals has achieved significant milestones since its launch a month ago, including reaching 20 million players. The Overwatch competitor boasts a vast roster, including the now-favored Jeff the Land Shark. While NetEase has already confirmed a few heroes to be included in Season 1, there have also been nearly a dozen leaked heroes. Although it’s improbable that all of these heroes will appear in Season 1, it does seem likely that there will be more than just the officially confirmed characters. The upcoming season will also feature new team-ups, new maps, and a new battle pass, in addition to fresh cosmetic items in the shop. Here’s everything we know about Marvel Rivals Season 1 so far.

Marvel Rivals Season 1 Start Date

Marvel Rivals Season 1 Start Date

While the start date for Season 1 of Marvel Rivals hasn’t been officially confirmed, Season 0 is set to conclude on Thursday, January 9 at 10 PM PST / January 10 at 1 AM EST. As this marks the first new season since the launch of Marvel Rivals, it’s unclear whether Season 1 will start immediately or if there will be some server downtime. Nevertheless, January 10 seems to be the most probable start date. When Season 1 begins, it is expected to include a new battle pass, which should be longer than the Season 0 battle pass. Don’t worry though, Marvel Rivals battle passes do not expire, so you will be able to continue working on the Season 0 battle pass if you haven’t completed it yet.

Marvel Rivals Season 1 Confirmed New Heroes

Several new heroes have been officially confirmed for Marvel Rivals, with NetEase teasing a trailer for January 6 showcasing the first official look at the Fantastic Four. As of now, it’s uncertain if all four will be introduced at the start of the season, but the tweet refers to them collectively as “Marvel’s first family,” suggesting that all four will debut at the beginning of the season. This includes Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and Thing. Although the exact roles of each character haven’t been disclosed yet, Thing appears to be a clear Tank, while Human Torch is likely a DPS (Duelist). Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman may potentially serve as Support roles, especially given that most of Marvel Rivals’ roster consists of Duelists, but we will have to wait for official confirmation.

Marvel Rivals Season 1 Maps

Marvel Rivals Season 1 Maps

NetEase has yet to confirm new maps for Season 1, but there have been some leaks. Leaker @FumoLeaks discovered three locations expected to debut in Season 1. The first two are Krakoa and Arakko, islands that the X-Men inhabit in certain comic storylines, as well as a New York City setting. Similar to other locations in Marvel Rivals, these may feature multiple maps for different game modes, much like the existing payload and capture point maps in the game. Leaker @XOX_Leak also tweeted “New York = EMPIRE OF ETERNAL NIGHT.” According to some text from Cloak and Dagger’s character bio and dialogue they share with Spider-Man during matches, Dracula seems to have control over New York, which may influence the design of the maps. The same leaker also mentioned that Thebes, Egypt is also expected to be included in the end.
