Get your memories ready! We invite you to share with us your favorite PlayStation-related gaming memory, mainly for the sake of storytelling, but we’ll also review them at the end and choose a winner who will receive a game’s worth of vouchers for the PlayStation Store. Ho ho ho, Merry Christmas.

We’ve conducted a few of these memory threads in the past, and they have led to some of the best comment sections ever on the web, thanks to your generous sharing. Most recently, we did one for our Eurogamer 25th anniversary, which was genuinely emotional, but we’ve also done them for Christmas, Star Wars, Zelda, and Street Fighter, all of which have made me laugh and tear up a little. You might have some epic tales to share.

It was PlayStation’s thirtieth anniversary this week, as you might have seen if you visited our homepage, so I hope the memories are already coming to mind. A PlayStation memory that sticks in my mind is me hunched over an ironing board one summer, aiming a lightgun at a small TV in a stifling hot conservatory – I have no clue why I set my friend’s borrowed PS1 there – trying to conquer Die Hard 2, which was incredibly tough, to say the least.
